Overview:
In a significant effort to empower women in KPK, the Department of Higher Education has partnered with the British Council to establish a Women’s Center of Excellence.
This initiative (Empowering Women in KPK) aims to enhance the skills and opportunities available to women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
After a thorough selection process, the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) in Peshawar was selected to spearhead this important project focused on women’s empowerment.
About IM Science Peshawar:
- Introduction: The Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) is a government-owned public institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It was established in 1995, growing from parts of the University of Peshawar. In 2011, it was ranked 7th in the business category by the Higher Education Commission.
- Location: It is located in Hayatabad, – A, Sector E-5, Phase VII, Hayatabad, Phase 7 Hayatabad, Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 25000, Pakistan.
- Departments: it has four main departments, management sciences, computer sciences, information technology, and liberal arts.
- Official Recognition: IMSciences is a degree-awarding institution, officially recognized by the Higher Education Commission and chartered by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
- The institute also has two incubation centers: IM|Durshal, a partnership with KPITB, and the Business Incubation Centre (BIC), both aimed at helping students develop their business ideas.
Empowering Women with Essential Digital Skills:
The main purpose of Empowering Women in the KPK and this center is to equip over 2,000 women with more than 50 advanced digital skills. These skills are essential for women to compete in the global job market and work from home.

The program covers a wide range of modern digital skills, including:
- Data Science: Understanding and analyzing data trends is becoming increasingly important in today’s digital economy.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI is reshaping industries, and learning how to use AI tools will give women an edge in various sectors.
- Mobile Application Development: With the rise of mobile technology, building apps is a valuable skill, opening up freelance and job opportunities.
- Web Designing: Creating attractive and functional websites is a highly in-demand skill, especially in the growing e-commerce world.
