Imran Khan Condemns Pahlgam Incident, Warns Against Indian Aggression

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, has strongly condemned (issued an important Imran Khan’s Pehlgam Statement) the loss of human lives in the Pahlgam incident, calling it “deeply disturbing and tragic.” 

During a discussion with his lawyers on April 29, 2025, Khan expressed his condolences to the victims’ families while accusing India’s Modi government of shifting blame onto Pakistan instead of conducting a fair investigation.

Pahlgam Incident: A Repeat of False Flag Operations?

Khan recalled the 2019 Pulwama attack, where Pakistan had offered full cooperation to India, but no concrete evidence was provided to support India’s accusations.

He warned that history is repeating itself with the Pahlgam incident, where India is again blaming Pakistan without proof.

“Instead of introspection and investigation, Modi Sarkar is again placing the blame on Pakistan,” Khan stated.

He emphasized that India, with its 1.5 billion people, must act responsibly rather than escalating tensions in a region already known as a “nuclear flashpoint.”

Pakistan’s Stance: Peaceful but Strong:

While reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, Khan made it clear that “peace should not be mistaken for cowardice.” 

He reminded India of Pakistan’s strong response in 2019, asserting that the country is fully capable of defending itself against any aggression.

“My government, backed by the whole nation, gave a befitting response to India in 2019. Pakistan will do the same if provoked again,” he declared.

Kashmir’s Right to Self-Determination:

Khan reiterated his long-standing position on Kashmir, stressing that the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as guaranteed by UN resolutions, must be honored.

He accused India’s RSS-led government of being a threat to regional and global peace, citing increased oppression in Kashmir after the illegal revocation of Article 370.

“The Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom has only intensified under India’s brutal policies,” he said.

Pakistan’s Internal Unity vs. External Threats

Khan criticized Pakistan’s current “illegitimate government”, claiming it was imposed through fraudulent elections (Form-47).

Despite political divisions, he noted that Modi’s aggression has united Pakistanis against Indian hostility.

However, he warned that internal political victimization is weakening national unity at a time when solidarity is crucial against external threats.

“To win a war against an external enemy, the nation must first be united. Polarization and political vendettas only weaken our defense,” Khan emphasized.

Silence of Pakistani Leaders: A Betrayal?

Taking a sharp dig at Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, Khan accused them of remaining silent on India’s aggression due to their foreign business interests.

“They will never speak against India because their illegal wealth is stashed abroad. They fear Indian lobbies might freeze their assets if they take a stand,” he alleged.

He highlighted how KP has set an example for other provinces and even the federal government with its outstanding performance.

Why the Opposition Was Worried?

After the elections, when Imran Khan nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as the Chief Minister of KP, the opposition expressed concerns in the media.

However, after one year of successful governance, it’s clear why they were worried.

The opposition feared that KP would progress under the current government, and today, their fears have come true.

KP’s performance has surpassed not only the federal government but also other provinces.

A Book of Achievements: “25 Sectors and 25 Achievements”

Instead of spending money on expensive advertisements, the KP government has published a book titled “25 Sectors and 25 Achievements” to showcase its one-year performance.

This book outlines the accomplishments of 25 government departments, with each department achieving 25 notable successes.

Muzzamil Aslam clarified that this doesn’t mean each department has only 25 achievements.

For example, the Finance Department alone could list 100 accomplishments.

Financial Success: A Surplus Budget

One of the biggest achievements of the KP government is its financial management.

The province presented the largest surplus budget in its history, with a surplus of Rs169 billion in the first six months of the financial year.

The target was Rs100 billion, but KP exceeded it by achieving Rs169 billion. The province is also on track to meet the Rs178 billion surplus target set by the IMF.

In comparison, the federal government collected Rs. 606 billion less than its target in the first eight months.

KP’s tax ratio is around 50 percent, with non-tax revenue at 55 percent and tax revenue at 46 percent. This shows how well the province is managing its finances.

Key Initiatives for Development

The KP government has taken several steps to ensure development and welfare for its people:

  1. Debt Management Fund: KP has established the first-ever debt management fund with Rs30 billion allocated and plans to add Rs40 billion more.
  2. Mineral Royalty: The province has increased mineral royalty by 200%, bringing more revenue to the government.
  3. Infrastructure Development Cess: A new tax has been introduced to fund infrastructure projects.
  4. Development Funds: The government has released 50% of development funds in the first six months and plans to release 25% more than the allocated budget.
  5. Ehsaas Programme: A Rs15 billion Ehsaas Programme has been launched to support the people of KP.
  6. Pension Reforms: The government is working on pension reforms to ensure long-term financial stability.
  7. Healthcare Improvements: More medicines have been purchased with less money compared to the previous government.
  8. Free Textbooks: Rs10 billion has been allocated to provide free textbooks to students.

Muzzamil Aslam expressed his gratitude to Imran Khan for appointing him as the Finance Advisor despite his non-political background.

He emphasized that only Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) could give such an opportunity to someone without a political background or vote bank.

Our soldiers are sacrificing their lives for Pakistan. To win the war against terrorism, it is essential for the nation to stand united behind the army.

However, it is unfortunate that due to the policies of the establishment, the gap between the army and the public is growing wider every day.

There are several reasons for this growing divide, and it is crucial for the establishment to revisit its policies to reduce this distance and restore the army’s reputation. Below are the key reasons that need immediate attention:

1. Electoral Fraud in the 2024 Elections:

The most significant reason is the historic rigging in the 2024 elections and the blatant theft of the public’s mandate.

The involvement of agencies in pre-poll rigging and manipulating results through political engineering has severely damaged the nation’s trust. A party that won only 17 seats was brought into power, imposing an “artificial government” on the country.

2. The 26th Constitutional Amendment:

The 26th Constitutional Amendment has been used to undermine the judiciary and violate the Constitution and the rule of law.

The Pakistani public is deeply angered by this. My cases have been delayed and manipulated, with “pocket judges” being appointed to ensure favorable rulings.

The ongoing “court packing” aims to suppress justice, violate human rights, and cover up electoral fraud.

3. The Draconian PECA Law:

The government has already taken control of electronic media, and now, through the PECA law, it is imposing restrictions on social media and the internet.

This has put Pakistan’s GSP Plus status at risk and caused a loss of over $1.72 billion to the IT industry. The careers of countless young people are being destroyed due to these internet disruptions.

4. State-Sponsored Terrorism Against PTI:

The state has launched a campaign of terror against Pakistan’s largest and most popular political party, PTI.

Over 100,000 raids have been conducted, more than 20,000 workers and supporters have been arrested or abducted, and families have been harassed. This continuous violation of human rights has deeply hurt public sentiments.

5. Economic Instability:

Political instability has crippled the economy, forcing people to leave Pakistan with their capital. The growth rate is zero, and investment in the country is almost nonexistent.

Without the rule of law and justice, no country can attract investment. Fear of terrorism further discourages investors. Investment only comes when a government truly represents the people’s aspirations.

6. Institutions Overstepping Their Roles:

All institutions have abandoned their duties and are instead focused on crushing PTI for political revenge.

Even mid-level officers are disregarding court orders, undermining the judiciary, and tarnishing the army’s image. Recently, despite a court order allowing my wife to appear for investigation, unseen forces sabotaged the process.

Conclusion: A Call for Change:

As a former Prime Minister, it is my duty to highlight these issues (in Imran Khan Open Letter) for the betterment of the nation. The army’s reputation is suffering, and the growing divide between the public and the army is a serious threat to national security.

The only way to bridge this gap is for the army to return to its constitutional role, stay out of politics, and focus on its defined responsibilities. This is something the army must do itself. If this divide continues to grow, it will become a fault line in national security.

“The army is mine, and the country is mine too. Let us work together to restore trust, stability, and peace in Pakistan.”

KP Government Approves Land for Establishing ICAP Institute in Peshawar

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken an important step to help its youth by approving land for the Institute of Chartered Accountancy (ICAP) in Peshawar.
